February 3rd  Sacred Cacao Ceremony — Journey into the Heart

    4pm to 7pm at Shanti Yoga

The spirit of Cacao was one of the most revered ancient Mayan Deities. They called Cacao “the water that runs through the heart” and it actually translates to food of the Gods. Chocolate is a powerful and gentle sacred & medicinal plant teacher and communicator with the secrets of the soul.

To celebrate the month of LOVE, we will be awakening the indigenous heart, turning inward towards the eternal flame of passion, unveiling the magic of self discovery and unique expression through pranayama, somatic sounding, singing devotional mantras, journal inquiries, heart blossoming yoga and dream yoga shamanic sound journey. We will make clear intentions and savor a cup of ceremonial Cacao made with raw medicinal grade Cacao from the indigenous jungles of Costa Rica. Embodied personal blossoming guaranteed.

Chocolate opens the heart and allows for a deeper, authentic love based connection with yourself, others, the world and all of life. Feelings of oneness, enlightenment and ecstasy. This results in more love in your life, leading to more effective manifestation and a more powerful, familiar connection with your magnificence and spiritual capacities. Helps in bringing awareness to things that have been preventing you from creating the life you love. Also aids in releasing repeated patterns, beliefs and blocks which could be stopping you, slowing you down or standing in the way of creating the life you love. We begin with sitting in a circle connecting our hands settling into the space and group energy. We will purify our hearts and minds with sacred smudging and sounding. Through prayer we will invite the 5 elements to co facilitate and support our inward integration into the deep chambers our lotus in the hearts sits pouring our group and individual intent into our Sacred Cacao Elixir. Savoring each sip whilst being so completely present, opening up and receiving the blessings of the Cacao Deva, Ixcacao.
After we savor our ceremonial Cacao, it’s time to begin by dropping deeply into our embodiment practice of belly breathing while Willow shares the numerous benefits and history of Sacred Cacao. The Shruti Nadis will begin to play an intuitive soundscape with a variety of instruments as Willow guides the group into unlocking the door to the heart. Then we will enter into dream yoga where participants are guided to make a cozy nest so they may lay down comfortably with blankets, cushions, eye pillows and their journal. This will be guided by a shamanic sound journey using crystal singing bowls, the shruti box, tibetan singing bowls, bells, rattles, turtle drum, ukulele, dulcimer,, celestial chimes, djembe drum, native american flute, overtone singing, angelic harmonies and more. During this time participants are welcomed to be still and or organically express their unique integration writing in their journals, flowing with the sound waves in gentle movement and or laying still in deep meditation. We close in a sacred circle sharing gratitude and each participant is welcomed to share a feeling, song, poem, or any treasure found during this journey into the heart as we go around the circle. ~ Wear loose comfortable clothing
~ Bring your journal
~ Bring a personal blanket and or Shawl for warmth during the yoga dreaming meditation
~ Bring a water bottle and come hydrated.
~ Please fast 2-3 hours prior to ceremony. It is best to break the fast post ceremony for grounding and nourishment.
~ limit your coffee and substance intake as it will alter the pure effects of Cacao
~ Bring an Open Heart and Open Mind
~The MAOI’s (monoamine oxidase inhibitors) in cacao interact poorly with anti-depressants. If you are on an anti-depressant please notify me beforehand so I can simply prepare you an appropriate (smaller) amount of cacao.
~ You may bring a symbolic and or sacred item, gemstone, letter, herbs and or flowers to place on the shared alter representing the heart chakra that is personal to you for your journey.

We will begin this workshop in a sacred circle with sacred smudging and using our voice, the unique instrument we carry throughout this lifetime, to tune us into the space, the group, and oursleves. After connecting and grounding into our beautufl soft animal bodies we will share a magical elixir of ceremonial grade Cacao. Cacao is often referred to as the “bean of the Gods’ and for 1000s of years in the Mayan lands, Alchemists have known that Cacao can unlock the secrets to the Soul… An Indigenous myth recalls that when the Earth and its people are out of balance, the cacao/sacred chocolate will come out of the rainforest to open peoples hearts and return the planet to a state of harmony and balance. Cacao can be utilized to expedite inner work, facilitating creative energy, yet its different to other plant medicines in that it does not carry you away on a journey, but rather supports you wherever you are, amplifying whatever is happening inside. The ceremony is an experience in multi-dimensional group energy. Through the medium of CACAO, we find a space of true connection where our essence reveals itself and opens to profound nourishment. Ceremonial Cacao is strong and bitter; it detoxifies and cleanses the liver. With over 300 individual ingredients, cacao truly is a superfood. It is amongst the richest sources of magnesium. After the release of dopamine, endorphins, tryptophan, phenylethylamine and serotonin, is the release of anandamide. When you consume Cacao prepared for Ceremony using high quality raw cacao all the mood enhancing neuro chemicals in Cacao become particularly active. They crystal singing bowls wash away and transform; a deep integration of repatterining and repairing our energetic states physically, mentally and spiritually. The native american flute grounds us into our indigenous, instinctual remembering calming us on a deep level and enchanting us into yogic dreaming. The horse drum empowers our journey onward in presence and focus on the heart beat bringing us deep into our own rythem and oneness connection. You will be guided in breath and supported by the earth, in a laying down position cozy with blankets and cushions for radical rest and restoration.

Fresh, raw juice will we shared in a circle as we fill our bellies with more nourishing plant medicine before we close and embrace the night renewed with our empowering feminine practice and blossoming of our sacred flower.
